West Ham Turn Down Take Over Bids

According to The Daily Mail West Ham's now not so rich owner Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson turned down three bids to buy the club last week from a 'foreign bidder, who is a West Ham fan.'

The Mail say that Gudmundsson is coming under government pressure in Iceland to 'repatriate' his overseas assets to help save his country's crippled economy. There have also been rumours that the Iceland government has been exerting private pressure on Gudmundsson to sell his foreign assets.
