West Ham 0 WBA 0

In a very poor and strangely muted first-half West Ham spent the first half hour trying to work out which end they were attacking. While West Ham couldn't manage a single shot in anger WBA managed a few efforts on goal. In the 17th minute Fortune shot into the side of the net.

In the 26th minute Morrison was able to stroll ten yards with the ball into the West Ham penalty area and was only denied by Green coming out and making a good save low down. Somehow, in the build up, Upson managed to get injured and became the third West Ham player in three games to be stretchered off.

This at least seemed to wake West Ham up and after that West Ham managed a few half hearted shots on goal. In the 32nd minute Noble pulled the ball back for Sears but his shot was blocked. A minute later Di Michele saw his shot from just outside the area go out for a throw. In the 38th minute Parker shot from a long way out and the ball flew high and wide. In the 39th minute Savio just beat Zuiverloon to a Sears cross but his shot from seven yards was a weak effort straight at the keeper.

If the first-half was poor the second-half was dire. West Ham did start the half quite brightly and within a couple of minutes of the restart a good move between Noble, Sears and Di Michele ended with the Italian shooting over from the edge of the box.

The best chance of the half fell to Greening, when he was played clear in the penalty area. For some strange reason Greening decided not to shoot but to run the ball to the line and then try to chip Green and put the ball over the bar.

In the 67th minute Stanislas came on for Savio. It was a Stanislas cross that created West Ham's best chance of the half but Di Michele headed wide from 8 yards.

In the end West Ham deserved to lose this game and against any other opposition in the Premier League probably would have done so.

Fact is no matter how poor they were a point is a point. We do need Cole back though, and another striker in the summer if money is available

Fair enough, we had players out and a point is a point. However it is still fair to say we were awful tonight.
