Gold to Bid £40 million for West Ham

The Star report that David Gold will up his bid for West Ham next week. They say he will offer to buy West Ham for £40 million.

As this is about a third of what the West Ham owners want for the club the bid seems destined to fail. Gold has been leaking to the media that he will then turn his attentions to buying Charlton or Crystal Palace.

The sooner he turns his attention to them the better I say.

40 million is shambolic. 120 million may be a total fantasy ,but 40 million is moronic.

good riddance. move on to someone with genuine interest,as opposed to a rearwipe just looking to scavenge.

The amount of the offer isn't really our concern as fans, but I can't help but look at how little forward momentum Brum have made is his 16 years there. I know our owners are a bit rubbish but it has to be better to wait for the right buyer. That said we have no say in the matter anyway and the Icelandic banks will decide.

Considering that the current "owner" is swimming beneath the ice thanks to PM Gordon Brown, I doubt they'll sell for much less than 120 million. The money they get for the club, will only be used to pay the icelandic mortage.
