Karren Brady Wants to Rename West Ham
West Ham United's new vice-chairman, Karren Brady has not made the best of starts to her new job. Brady says she likes the idea of renaming the club West Ham Olympic if we move to the London 2012 stadium,
"I love the idea of calling the club West Ham Olympic."
However in her new column in The Sun Brady does say that "there isn't a safer job than Gianfranco Zola's."
The Daily Mirror say West Ham are ready to sign Benni McCarthy from Blackburn Rovers on loan to get round his work permit problem and say a deal is 'close'.
The Times disagree about the loan offer. They say West Ham have raised their offer to £2 million for Benni McCarthy, but Blackburn Rovers value the striker at double the sum.
The Mirror also claim West Ham are keen to sign Burnley defender Clarke Carlisle. They say Carlisle is also wanted by Bolton.
The Times report that Ruud van Nistelrooy has had a preliminary medical with Hamburg.
