Avram Grant Deal 65% Complete

The Daily Telegraph are reporting sources within West Ham claiming that the deal to sign Avram Grant is almost 65% complete. However the newspaper says that David Sullivan wants to complete a 'selection process', having drawn up a shortlist which also includes Sam Allardyce, Ian Holloway and Dave Jones.

Palermo's sporting director Walter Sabatini has confirmed an interest in West Ham midfielder Valon Behrami.

"I like Behrami very much," he told Corriere dello Sport. "We are trying to sign him, even if it is difficult."

So, we've sacked someone who avoided relegation and are hiring someone who was relegated (even with points deducted not taken into account they would have been relegated). Not to mention having zero charisma and not a great track record -- okay he did well at Chelsea but with players like that any manager would have done as well if not better.

What on earth has happened to West Ham over the past few years -- and these two muppets in charge should keep their mouth shut, Boa Morte was quite right about that. Sir Trevor Brooking, a man of incredibly integrity, must be distraught as to what is going on.

Having been a West Ham fan for 40 years I have often been disappointed, but never before have I been disgusted.

get Gregorio Manzano won't ask for alot of money, also proven to manage a team on nothign of a wage budget! ian holloway, dave jones and sam allardyce on a shortlist? What a joke! allardyce is a good manager granted but doesn't play the West Ham way. The two Davids say they are West Ham fans, don't make me laugh!! FANS!?!?! why would they be saying to be sellign everyplayer if they were fans? Come on we haven't got a bad team. we have got some great individuals jus tneed to be told how to play as a team!

The one who warrants being hung ,drawn and quartered is the moron taking the pop at Spector. The ones who anyone with brains "has a problem with " are the overpaid ,pseudo-English internationals who got us into the mess in the first place ,not a substitute utiltity defender forced to play on the left side all season.

Charisma- gee that s real important. Wake up sad trombome- Grant took over Pompey when they were already relegated for all intent and purposes. Yet got them to an FA cup final where they performed creditably.

Gianfranco Zola "avoided relegation". Stroke of genius that . It s only because of his ineptitude that we were in the muck and the mire in the first place. Nice guy- not a Premiership caliber manager.

Why go through the "selection process" for these three crappy managers!!!??? sign Grant now before it's too late! we need stability and Grant is the only good one out of a bad bunch. Yes Holloway and Jones have done well but let's not forget they are championship sides and whichever team/manager gets promoted is favourite to go straight down again anyway!
Come on David(s) sign a decent manager while you have the chance or we'll end up in the same situation as last season

I don't think Spector is even close to the biggest problem, in fact, i quite like the way he plays. He's played fantastically for the American side in the past two years. You guys will see that in a couple weeks or so though.
Also, I think it way to soon to be jumping all over the new owners. Since they came, we've signed players, avoided relegation(which Ilan has a decent part in, though Mido is a fat joke for a player) and have not even sold any big names yet. We have to accept the fact that some big guys will go if we get the right price because of the financial issues that the owners came into. So what if theyre often making news as long as theyre trying to make the club better, which is obviously theyre goal.

It's kind of inconsistent to say that Grant only did well at Chelsea because of having good players, but Portsmouth being relegated must be his fault, don't you think?
West Ham's players are a lot better than Portsmouth's, even though they (mostly) haven't shown it this season.

I never said spector was the clubs biggest problem i just happen to think he isnt a good player but each to their own i suppose i just think that he cost us a few vital goals but sure i suppose if he was forced to play on the wrong side (boo fucking hoo)he can be forgiven. look either way lets just hope the 2davids get it right we are a great club with a great attitude twords the game COYI!
