West Ham Submit Olympic Stadium Bid

West Ham and Newham Council have submitted a joint bid to move into the Olympic Stadium after the 2010 London Olympics.

Some key proposals of the joint West Ham and Newham Council bid include:
  • capacity reduced to 60,000
  • the retention of the athletics track around the pitch
  • a second running track next to the stadium, (which athletics club Newham and Essex Beagles would use)
  • The University of East London would have access to the stadium's sport and learning facilities

2012 olympics....

Sounds like a good plan, but the club also need to invest in the playing squad and develop that.... What is the use of a fantastic 60,000 seater stadium if we are in the championship???
