Roque Santa Cruz Anyone?
The Mirror claim Liverpool might try to buy Parker because Mascherano might leave Liverpool. The Mirror also say that West Ham are interested in Portsmouth's Marc Wilson. Wilson can play in defence or midfield.
The Sun claim that West Ham are about to land Manchester City striker Roque Santa Cruz on a season-long loan. The paper quotes an 'Upton Park source' saying,
"We are keen to add a striker despite the financial restrictions.
"Had it not been for injuries, which have meant we cannot move players on at the moment, we might have tried to do a permanent deal."

Its like talking to a wall! Once a player is in he premier league merry-go-round, clubs will always pay through the teeth for him even in the face of much cheaper solutions.
What about SA's Katlego Mphela whom WH could get for around 2 mil with wages at 10% of Roque Santa Cruz. He is about 25, doesn't get injured and has a scoring rate of 1 in 2 games for his country - better then Benni McCarthy!
Like him or hate him,whatever share of wgaes that Cardiff is paying to bellamy,we'd have done begtter to consider bringing him back on loan.
