O'Neill to Replace Grant

Both Sky Sports and the BBC are reporting that Martin O'Neill will replace Avram Grant as manager of West Ham after Saturday's Premier League match against Arsenal. However The Guardian say that they have contacted West Ham and that a 'senior board member' told them,

"I can categorically say that it is not correct. I do not know where that has come from."

It had been reported this week that Martin O'Neill was not convinced that West Ham could avoid relegation this season and was therefore less than keen to become manager. If rumours of O'Neill's appointment are true then it may mean that the board have promised him money to spend in the current transfer window.

Considering West Ham's current position the recruitment of O'Neill would be a huge accomplishment by the board.

Much as I think this would be a fantastic appointment, I can't help thinking that the way it has been done is nothing short of appalling!!!

Villa fan here. If you get mon expect no signings till the 1th hour and they will be boring basic british buys. Long ball football, no squad rotation and arguments among fans who either think he's the new messiah or complete mediocrity.

One defeat in seven games(same as 'arry), two points off 14th place in the most 'open' season in years, 90 mins from a Wembley final, still in the other competition, players coming back from injury.... yeah lets sack the manager.
He ain't my fave man for the job but it's disgraceful that he's getting the boot at a time when we need stability. So we don't understand his tactics, so he doesn't smile - big f***ing deal. Give the guy the time he was told he would have at the start I say. Now we get MON who'll have a clause in his contract big enough to drive through that says I'm off if you go down/Manure/Scouse come a knocking for a manager, you don't give me the funds etc
I hope I'm wrong.
