The West Ham Managers Shortlist

According to The Guardian West Ham has drawn up a shortlist of seven managers to approach to replace Avram Grant at the end of the season.

The paper says the shortlist consists of Neil Warnock, Paul Lambert, Malky Mackay, Chris Hughton, Slaven Bilic, Ian Holloway and Martin O'Neill.

If West Ham are relegated I can only see Malky Mackay and Chris Hughton being interested in the job. The Guardian say that Hughton, a lifelong West Ham fan, has been in the directors' box for the last three home games at the Boleyn Ground.

There are rumours that Warnock may be sacked by QPR even if he gains promotion to the Premier League. If that happens then he also could be tempted by the West Ham job.

I could get behind Hughton as manager. I thought they should have ditched Grant and picked up Hughton when the Magpies let him go.

The idea of Hughton is the only bright spot from this debacle. We are down in my opinion, no "ifs" anymore. He has a point to prove to Newcastle and that will drive him. He could get us back. Maybe. I think.

Agree that Hughton shud have replaced Grant ,and that Hughton wud be good.

As for us being down, why don't you just shut the funk up and see what happens against Blackburn and how other results go this weekend before spewing your twattage you effing bunt?

@ anonyomous You're back! I've missed you, you effing bunt.

I hope you are right with every fibre of my body that we aren't going down. Unfortunately I gave up hope a long time ago - but believe me I pray to every possible God that it won't happen.

Warnock isn't leaving QPR, you can't afford O'Neill in Championship, Holloway would not leave Blackpool for you. The others are possible now that you're down a level, but what about the debt?

Newcastle Fan in peace - sorry to see you guys relegated, always had the greatest respect for you as fans (apart from a couple of knobheads who hurled abuse at Glenn Roeder and his brain tumor a few years back). Anyway I was going to suggest Chris Hughton as your next Manager, but I see you have already thought of him. 99% of Newcastle fans loved Chris(and we still do)and despised Ashley for sacking him, he was brilliant for us, still learning his trade but I think he will go on to be a very good manager indeed.

Funny that the management acted swiftly to sack Grant now that we have been relegated. If they had done that back last year we would have probably have stayed up. Their indecision has cost the club dearly. West Brom proved what you have to do and they are now safe with a good manager. The problem all season has been that we cannot keep a clean sheet ever since Collins went. This has never been addresed.

Its got to be Chris Hughton for the job English, a Hammers fan, Ex-Player, and great manager for us. The job he done for Newcastle was fantastic Ashley is a cock for letting him go. There loss our gain.
