Boa Morte Leaves West Ham

Sam Allardyce revealed today that Boa Morte has left West Ham to return to Portugal. Speaking to talkSport Allardyce said,

"We've lost 15 players with Luis Boa Morte having moved to Portugal now."

In the same interview Allardyce denied the resurgent rumours that West Ham are trying to sign Joe Cole on a loan deal,

"Purely and simply from a financial point of view, I just think it's impossible on the reputed £5m-a-year for us to even contemplate."

Boa Morte would have been useful to us in the Championship. This is a mistake to have let him go as he is experienced and versatile. He was far from perfect, but he passed the ball well and did make tackles, unlike most of our players the last 2 seasons. Unlike Dyer,Upson and Faubert,Boa Morte actually contributed something.

Boa morte had not contributed anything since he played for arsenal!

Love to see Joe Cole back. Won't happen but it would be ace. Barton too. Them two with Parker, Nolan, collison, and noble. Get in!

Joe Cole is the best player I have ever seen livexas a tough team player. Would love to see him back and playing well at UP. Wasted not playing... Too expensive though. From his point if view, do you stay at Liverool getting paid well and not playing, watching your career end, or do you drop a leaguexand get try to get the old magic back? What he decides now will show what sort of a player and person he is.

Barton would be good, as long ad he stops twitter, banging on. Don't want another Bellamy.

Although I've been critical of Boa Morte's shooting, over the course of last season I came to quite like him, mainly because of his work rate and willingness to put tackles in, something that stood out in last season's disillusioned and rudderless team. By now I'd like to keep him but with only one year left on his contract, his age, and the rebuilding of the squad, I suppose it was the right time for him to go.

Just for the record I will never boo a West Ham player. I hope he doesn't think everyone agreed with that.
