Forever Young

The Daily Telegraph quote a seemingly determined Eggert Magnusson today saying he hasn't given up on signing Ashley Young. The West Ham chairman says,

"The deal is still very much alive. I don't want any players who clearly don't want to play for us, but we're still working on it and are hopeful."

The paper claim that Young turned down an offer to join West Ham on Monday, but, according to Magnusson, the deal stalled before they had the chance to discuss personal terms with the player. Magnusson obviously believes he can offer the player some tempting personal terms if he can get the chance to speak to him.
