Newcastle vs West Ham

On the current defensive form of both teams this promises to be a high scoring match. That is if West Ham can overcome their current goalless record which now stretches to nine successive away games. On the evidence of last Saturday's game Yossi Benayoun seems to be back to his best and could prove instrumental in West Ham's attack.

Newcastle have looked pretty dismal in their last two games and seem to be relying almost exclusively on the excellent form of Martins. Let's hope that Davenport fits straight into the West Ham defence and that Ferdinand is fit to play. Another major factor will be whether Parker is able to play for the barcodes, without him our midfield might even be able to dominate the game.

Before Wednesday I think most West Ham fans didn't feel we could get much out of this game, our away form is dreadful and we never seem to do well at Newcastle. However Wednesday night's 1-5 thrashing by Championship side Birmingham will give West Ham fans hope.
