The Sunday Times report that although Chelski have accepted a West Ham offer of £9.8 million for SWP the player is unwilling to sign for the Hammers. They report that Sp*rs have offered Defoe in a swap for the winger.

The Sunday Star claim Curbs wants to recruit the Arsenal defender Lauren who has just returned from a long bout of injury.

Sky Sports News and The Sunday Mirror report that Curbishley's top targets are Scott Parker and Joey Barton. He will offer £10 million for each. According to The Sunday Mirror Curbs is also willing to listen to offers for Anton Ferdinand, Teddy Sheringham, Yossi Benayoun, Matthew Etherington, captain Nigel Reo-Coker and Bobby Zamora.
