Holmar Eyjolfsson

Reports are coming out of Iceland (not the shop) that Holmar Eyjolfsson could make a summer move to West Ham. The young centre-half recently spent a week on trial at West Ham and seems to have impressed.

Eyjolfsson is already a regular for the Iceland U21 side and Bayern Munich are also said to be keen.

it s odd to me that we continue to be linked with center backs (wes brown not long ago) or defenders ,when that is the one area where we don t seem short. makes me wonder if players like gabbidon and collins will want to stay ,when it s looking like it s going to be very difficult for them to get a game

why not a striker or just doing something about the strikers we already have?

this seems to be a dubious idea given the team's lack of ability to finish. the midfield seems very effective, yet this entry is about adding another defender?

something just goes out of whack when it is time to score a goal or even a second to break a tie. at the end of the day, it is about consistently winning and that is about scoring.

it is strange that these stories about defenders are appearing, whether it is media driven or otherwise, when it s crystal clear that the one position we need to bolster is up front.
