Sidwell to West Ham

The Daily Mirror say that Steve Sidwell will join West Ham in the summer for £5 million. The paper claims that Sidwell, who joined Chelsea on a free last summer, is fed up with the lack of first team opportunities at Chelsea and has thrown a hissy fit after being left out of the Champions League squad.

The Mirror claim that Sidwelll has been quietly offered around and that West Ham are prepared to match his current £3 million a year contract.

Canadian team Vancouver Whitecaps have announced that they have agreed to play a 'top ten' Premier League side this summer. West Ham's opening of a North American Academy last year has led everyone to jump to the conclusion that the Premier League club could be West Ham.

I live in Vancouver, and have been a lifelong Whitecaps supporter but a far more passionate hammer. so I hope West Ham is that top ten club.

have to wonder what sidwell expected in the first place- did he really think he was going to get any time on the pitch at chelsea? or was ultimately just about the money? can t have it both ways -
