Galatasaray Bid for Neill
According to Sky Galatasaray have made an offer to buy West Ham captain Lucas Neill.
Neill came under fire from some West Ham fans last season whilst many of his team mates have spoken about his inspirational leadership on and off the field. Neill is rumoured to be one of the highest earners at the club and Curbishley has reportedly been told to reduce the squad and wage budget.
Could we see Faubert at right back (or even Pantsil (sadly Spector could be out for five months)) and Parker becoming club captain?

neill welcome to GALATASARAY..!!!
for the love of god take him, please...
Parker warrants the armband much more than Lucas, in my opinion. Great on-pitch leadership with his vocality, skill and drive.
It is interesting that many of the players seem keen to point out in interviews how influential Neill is as a captain.
i think that two seasons ago Neill was outstanding in our successful quest to avoid relegation. But for virtually all of last season, not just part of it ,he was well below his best. He was consistently a yard off the pace and guilty of dodgy fouls in an around the area ,which eventually caught up with him. The guy can t have become an average player overnite, but something wasn t right last season, and for once,it can t be blamed on injuries. He looked heavier than he should be ,which can t have helped his fitness. Although I think the guy is still capable on his day of playing good football,it was worrying how often he got done for pace last season. I think if the turkish club make a reasonable bid ,we shud strongly consider it.
As for leadership,I agree that Parker wud be an excellent option. The guy is fully committed every second he s on the pitch, and he leads by example. He also seems to have a better rapport with Curbishley than most players.
Perhaps the harder question than the captaincy is who plays right back if he goes? I like Pantsil, but i think Pantsil s athleticism is more evident in midfield. Faubert,in his limited time on the pitch ,doesn t fill me with confidence, especially at right back, but perhaps if he can adapt a bit more to the more physical nature of the premiership,he cud work there.
