MLS All-Stars 3 West Ham 2

West Ham got the opening goal, probably against the run of play, in the 23rd minute. A long ball forward was flicked on by Cole to put Ashton clean through. Ashton calmly powered the ball home low into the bottom left of the goal from about 8 yards. MLS scored almost straight from the restart. Beckham passed the ball onto Blanco, whose deft little flick put Gomez through to beat Green.

In the 43rd minute Blanco cut inside Parker in the box and curled the ball from wide left into the top right of the goal to give MLS the lead at half time.

In the 67th minute an Ashton long shot from about 25 yards took a big deflection to draw level. However, as in the first half, MLS responded almost immediately, when Neill brought down De Rosario in the area. De Rosario powered the penalty in off the crossbar to give MLS a 3-2 lead.

In the 89th minute West Ham almost drew level when Parker drove forward in the middle and played Boa Morte on but Boa Morte's shot flew across the goalmouth.
