Ilunga Aiming Higher

Herita Ilunga has revealed that he wants to use West Ham as a springboard to another Premier League club.

"Without being pejorative, West Ham are a second-rate club. We cannot lie to ourselves, we are not Arsenal, Manchester United neither Chelsea. But West Ham have values and a history. They educated Frank Lampard and Joe Cole. People from the club know football.

"And once you have proven yourself within this club you can aim higher. But there is a top atmosphere, even if there are only few French-speaking players – [Julien] Faubert, [Valon] Behrami and the Portuguese [Luis] Boa Morte."

"I stay with West Ham or join another English club. I really want to continue this adventure in England.

its pissed me off ! just when i thought players wanted to play for us and help us break into the top flight, the very sniff of more money and there off !! what chance do we really have if players see us as a stop gap to bigger things ! thats the image/ perception of our club that we desperatley need to change !

Posters above, stop being such naive idiots!

Firstly, we ARE second rate behind ManU, Chelsea and Arsenal.

Secondly, he obviously means nothing bad about it, just simply saying that we are the level below those clubs, which we ARE.

Get over yourselves...

His blog has been updated with regard to the football365.fr article;

http://heritailunga.blogspot.com/

"Herita is really happy to be in West Ham and that he WISH TO SIGN HERE as a permanent."

I think we should be careful reading too much into this. He's young, inexeperienced with the media (For Christ's sake he has a blog which he pours it all out on...that's going to stop after this). He plays with his heart. I'm sure he'd be happy to stay with West Ham and push on up. Everyone has aspirations to be the best he can be. Unfortunately the translation ("second rate club") isn't the way he meant it...

On another note, I notice the daily express has got hold of this and, typically, splashed it everywhere. I think we should be careful what we report on...lest the sharks get it and blow it out of proportion...
