Liverpool 0 Some Other Team 0

Liverpool failed to beat some team tonight (whose name must have been mentioned on Setanta when I went to the bog because I didn't catch it).

It was a shame they weren't mentioned because their striker Craig Bellamy came the nearest to scoring in the first half. He took on the Liverpool defence on his own and the defenders continued to back away from him so he chanced his arm from 25 yards. The ball clipped the inside of the post and then ran across the box.

Obviously it looked better than it actually was because according to the Liverpool Setanta pundits the best striker on the pitch in the first half was Keane. Apparently his inability to touch the ball in the first half was a masterful demonstration of positioning. It is something that Bellamy chap should have a look at, as he just ran around with the ball beating the opposition at will and nearly winning the game for his team.

Early in the second half Bellamy played Cole clean through. Cole was given off-side. The decision was clearly wrong, but we didn't get a chance to check it on the replay because Setanata had spotted a Liverpool substitute was wearing a funny hat. Hilarious.

The unnamed team also seemed to have a good goalkeeper. He kept them in the game in the 55th minute when Benayoun fired a rocket from 8 yards and Green did superbly to tip the ball other.

In the end the unnamed team had by far the better chances. Late on Cole was about 8 yards onside but ran clear only for the Liverpudlian running the line to give him offside again. Then with two minutes left Boa Morte had a good chance from 8 yards but weakly fired wide.

However according to Setanta we should be happy because Liverpool are top of the league.

The no-name keeper might make a name for himself if he keeps this up. TBellamy has to break out sometime doesn't he? He kept up the offensive pressure almost single handedly all night.

Bellamy I thought was awesome tonight. I haven't thought much of Cole since he came back from suspension.

I'm sick of those arse licking pundits who don't give other teams a mention for their efforts. Always going on about the top 4 as if they have a divine right to win every game.

cole is useless. i still dont understand the 5 year extension to his contract.

thought west ham defended well. steve clark deserves alot of credit for how well organised we have gotten.
bellamy was the only threat, but rarely gets into a shooting position

a great point from the team i hate most in the league

not bad at all. plus we may restore some respect from most other teams in the league after this :)

Nice review: you nailed it.

I said as much on my blog too; infact, I go out of my way not to mention any of the BIG FOUR by their names if possible: they get enough help from the media. It's nice that we can make up the numbers for them. It does piss the media off though when we, smaller teams, have the audacity to ignore the script and refuse to fold like good little chaps. I mean they spend all that money on the tv rights, the least West Ham can do is accept it with good grace and let four goals in when we go to Anfield. What a mistake it was then tonight: the audacity of the little team!

You've got to love the headlines - the media aren't above a little revenge to pay us back though: Liverpool fluff their lines; lackluster reds move to summit; reds booed off after hammers draw...I mean, who else was playing? Did we have ANY effect on the outcome? Was it really just a desperately off night for Liverpool??

Well done to Zola, Clarke and the boys.

Five Live was as bad, the "Boy Green" could only keep saying that Liverpool should be beating likes of West Ham ( not sure if mentioned by name in truth) Why?. You get what you worked for and they did not work hard enough to beat us , thats the end of the story.
Three Clean Sheets in a row , what ever next a Cole hat trick!!!!

I've been trying (unsucessfully as it happens) to cancel my subscription to Setanta since the screened fixtures were published and West Ham only on once till Xmas. Luckily they refuse to cancel my subscription for some reason, I even cancelled my credit card so they get no money. Imagine my joy when I found I could watch last night whilst we dominated without trying too hard against their mighy Liverpool (Does Gillette have shares or is it all IRA laundered money?). Picture went off as Bellers hit the post!! Thought it was my comeuppence, but no the weather over in Johnny Foreigner land was to blame.

If they still behave incompetently I can also watch us thrash 'arry's Turnips next week all for nothing!!!
