Blades Want £45 Million

According to The Sun Sheffield United want £45.5 million compensation from West Ham for not being good enough to play in the Premier League. Despite the collapse of the global economy and stagflation The Blades have now added another 50% on top of the £30 million they were claiming before.

However maybe the tide of press opinion has now turned against Sheff Utd. Today even The Mail, who have run an unceasing two year campaign against West Ham, seem to have turned against the Yorkshire club. One headline in The Mail read,

"Maybe whining Blades boss Blackwell can blame West Ham for FA Cup defeat and sue the referee for loss of income"

The article then went on to say,

"Maybe they should work out how much they have lost from going out of the competition (the FA Cup) and sue the official for it ... Asking Sheffield United to find a sense of proportion, it seems, is asking just a little too much."
