West Ham in the Sundays

The Sunday People say that Matthew Upson will be sold to the highest bidder in the summer. David Sullivan says,

"If we can get a substantial sum for him then we've got to take it. It's business sense. He wants to have one last crack at the big time - Champions League football - and you can't begrudge him that."

Sullivan says that Upson wants to leave. There is of course the possibility that the new West Ham owners aren't prepared to meet Upson's wage demands to sign a new contract.

The People also claim that Man City's Benjani failed a medical at West Ham before sealing a loan move to Sunderland.

The Daily Mirror say that West Ham's decision to withhold Calum Davenport's wages my be illegal. They say West Ham have received letters from the PFA and the Premier League asking for an explanation.
