Upson Back for Barcodes Game

The Daily Mail says that West Ham captain Matthew Upson has returned to training after injury and will be fit to face Newcastle at Upton Park on Saturday.

The Mail also claim that West Ham lead Celtic and Wigan in the chase for former Bayern Munich keeper Michael Rensing. Rensing is a free agent.

TalkSport claim that West Ham are interested in signing Robert Pires. Pires is now 36 and a free agent. The article on TalkSport mentions that Zola was keen to buy Pires and seem to extrapolate from that fact that Avram Grant may also therefore be interested.

It all sounds like desperate talk from the agent of a player without a contract.
