Cole Not for Sale
Avram Grant has revealed that West Ham turned down a 'substantial' offer from Liverpool in the summer for Carlton Cole and a similar offer for Scott Parker made by Sp#rs.
The newspapers yesterday reported that Grant's claim that he doesn't want to sell Cole revealed he was scared that Cole would be sold. So Grant has responded by saying the club have already turned down substantial offers for the striker.
"We kept our nerve. This club is £110 million in debt and everyone knows we are desperate for money.
"It wasn’t because we could not find a replacement for Carlton – but it showed what we think of him. Scotty too. We all want the best for West Ham. They showed it once. I am confident they will do it again."

sell him he is crap yet another game we have lost against sunderland
carlton was p*s* poor again today!
He should be sold , as his performance against Sunderland is proof that he is not good enuf. Forget about scoring- his passing, holding up of the ball etc. were also weak. Not to mention that he was lucky not to get sent off. Experienced defenders must love playing against him, because he is so easy ,for any competent defender,to shut down.
If we can get 7 or 8 million for him then that shu dbe re-invested in someone who can SCORE GOALS,even if it's an expensive loan signing. The defence is improving, but we cannot stay up if we're not able to score against mediocre defences like Sunderland and Blackpool.
There are other senior players who have underperformed ,but by a country mile,Cole is the single biggest reason why we are in jeopardy. 1 league goal in 16 matches? It doesn't bear thinking about ,and is totally unaccptable.
Yeah I just hope the same don't happen as did under Zola! We sold Bellamy and brought in Savio! Please let's get someone better in this time, not somebody who may be good never!
