West Ham Close to Being Sold
The Daily Mirror claim West Ham could be sold to a group of Asian investors this week. The paper claims the group is close to a £90 million deal to buy the club.
However the fact that Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson is this week in danger of losing control over West Ham may have something to do with this rumour. If Gudmundsson can persuade the Icelandic financial authorities that he is close to selling the club he may be able to retain control.
The News of the World say West Ham are willing to make an out of court settlement with Sheffield Utd but contend the genuine costs of the Yorkshire club's relegation are around £5 million not the the £45.5 million they are claiming.
The Mirror claim that former West Ham manager Alan Pardew is a leading contender to fill the vacant position at League One Brighton.
