Sullivan to Cut All Players' Wages

I thought it a bit of a strange move by David Sullivan to announce last week that Green and Upson were most likely to be sold in the summer. Telling players that it doesn't really matter if the club get relegated because they won't be here next year didn't strike me as the best way to get the best out of them in a relegation battle.

Now on the eve of a must win game Sullivan has publicly announced that all the players will be asked to take a pay cut this summer.

"Everyone at the club will be asked to take a salary cut in the Summer," Sullivan told The Sun.

Sullivan made much of his honesty when he took over West Ham. However, I think Sullivan needs to be a bit more wary of completely demoralising the side at a time we need them to step up and start winning games.

...unless this is all the tactics of a genius - they all start playing well to attract attention from other clubs so they can get a move away from the club before the paycut arrives... :-)

could very well keep us up, but that then? we loose our best players, those very players who are keeping us in the premiership...... yes some players might need a salary cut, or even to be offloaded like dyer etc, but other players, behrami, parker, collinson, cole etc, demand higher wages due to their importance within a team. I hope they do not go overboard, or if we do stay up, we could very well be in a WORSE position this time next year.

And these are the people that apparently know how to run a football club.
Fellow fans, be afraid, be very afraid.

This message is not encouraging at all. Its sinks everybody's heart. Yes, the club has over-spent .. message should have been said first internally, before the press.

Gold and Sullivan are as inferior as the people that preceeded them. They understand about controlling costs ,but they have not a clue about how to motivate people.

And they will ultimately be subject to the same venom as those that that came before them. And ultimately forced out by season ticket holders ,like those who preceeded them, once the club is on sounder financial footing#

Gold and Sullivan have no future at this club, and within 2 years ,once the danger has passed, will be kicked into touch.
