Bye, Bye England

If there is anything positive to come out of this humiliation by Germany is that Capello will presumably be out of a job soon. Also it will hopefully save us years of "we were robbed" carping by the players and media.

50 minutes of good football from four games, three of the games against weak opposition, surely shows that Capello isn't a tournament manager. His selection policy always seemed to be for the safe option and his tactics seemed to deny the players any individual freedom.

For England it must be time to rebuild with a new manager and hopefully with Gerrard, Lampard and Terry put out to grass. These players might just be young enough to be around for the next European Championship competition but England need to start building for the next World Cup.

There may not be obvious replacements for some of this squad but the older England players have had their chance and simply haven't been good enough.

I think you are right about Capello. I think his system and approach is dated.

Having said that the players have not performed. They are just not as good as we think we are. They are clearly not the golden generation that they think they are.

An inept manager ,completely out of his depth. And some very over-rated,under-achieving players who are paid excessive Premier League wages ,and who are long past their best. Not a single player in this squad can come out of this tournament with something to feel proud of, apart, perhaps, from David James.

An absolute disgrace- the good thing is that this finally ,we hope, means big changes. Bring in a British manager, instead of using foreign managers who can't even speak English and who have no man-management skills. And give younger players a chance instead of relying on 30 year olds who never delivered in an England shirt and never will.

Golden Generation my arse- more like over-paid muppets who set no example for kids, and in some cases belong in a jail cell ,not on a football pitch. Shame on you Capello and your band of losers.

We're just a very average footballing nation. Today we saw Germany work as a real team, using both brains and brawn to score 4 very impressive goals. This country needs a full clearout of its football hierarchy, from the FA, players, owners and most of the ignorant pundits who seem to ignore the opposition and think it's just all about "us". As a Hammer, this tournament and season have been one of the worst I can remember, so now I'm just going to enjoy the rest of the World Cup as a football-loving neutral and then forget about everything until the Deportivo game in August. Well done Germany, but England .. things have to change.

well, you can still say 'we were robbed', 2-2 and its a different game, germans would have to be deflated after losing a two goal lead in a matter of minutes before half time and gives our boys a buzz as well - that being said, they were by far the better team. How is james getting away from taking any flak here though, he was slow coming out for the 1st goal, how is he stuck on his goalline from an opposing goalkick? and he should of kept out the one that was right at him one and could of done better for podolski's. capello needs to go, all those arseholes that think barry is somehow a better player than parker, look like mugs now.

Isn't it obvious to the FA that the foreign coach experiment hasn't worked? The clear choice for England manager is Roy Hodgson but by the dithering FA get their collective arses in gear he will be settled at the bin dippers.I suspect they'll turn to the classless Redknapp but at least he would be better than Allardyce.

As an aside the FA should take a good look at German football and the Bundesliga. An exciting league with predominantly German players on sensible wages. J Cole and SWP think they should be on 100k a week, what fucking planet are they on?
