McCarthy's £80,000 in Fat Fines
The Mail report that West Ham have fined Benni McCarthy over £80,000 for not reaching his weight limit targets. However the paper claim he has now lost the weight and The Mail have even picked him to play in next week's Carling Cup tie against Sunderland.
Now that The Mail are picking the team West Ham won't need West Ham's senior coach Paul Groves to take charge of the team for the Stoke game on Saturday. Avram Grant will miss the game whilst he observes Yom Kippur and it is reported that Groves will be in charge.
