West Ham Bid for Bret Emerton

The Daily Mail today report that West Ham have made a £1.5 million bid for Blackburn's Brett Emerton. The paper claims that Pardew has given up on Milner who the Barcodes are asking £4 million for, and who could play in the Inter Toto this weekend and therefore be cup-tied for our European campaign.

Hopes of signing Fulham's Steed Malbranque has also been abandonded because the Frenchman wants £40,000 a week net, which works out at around £60,000 a week to his future employer, and West Ham will not pay those wages.

The Mail concludes by saying,

"Emerton will join Carlton Cole, Lee Bowyer, Tyrone Mears and Jonathan Spector as new signings at Upton Park and Pardew wants to bring in at least one more buy."
