Upson Wants West Ham Move

Matthew Upson's agent has claimed that Birmingham have reneged on a promise that Upson could leave if the club received an offer over a certain amount.

"Matt is disappointed after having been told he could leave Birmingham for a certain amount - and what has been offered has gone way past that. There's not really much more I can say other than I'm disappointed and I'm disappointed for Matt.

As to whether he would be interested in a move to West Ham, that can't be answered until a bid has been accepted."

This sounds like typical agent bollocks, if Upson had a minimum transfer fee clause in his contract then there would be little Birmingham could do to hold onto the player. However with 18 months left on his contract and the player now actively campaigning for a move Birmingham may now have to seriously consider a rumoured £8 million bid for the player by West Ham.
