West Ham in for Hamsik

According to The Daily Mirror West Ham are keen on Napoli’s 21-year-old midfield sensation Marek Hamsik. The Mirror say West Ham's Director of Football Gianluca Nani has hailed him “the new Steven Gerrard”.

I think his characteristics really suit the English championship,” said Nani.

I got to know him at Brescia and I feel he is the strongest young midfielder around and he could become a great champion."

The Daily Mirror has spent all week trying to suggest that West Ham will have to sell their entire squad in January so this is a bit of a U-turn by the newspaper. They also claimed today, a mere 24 hours after Nani said West Ham were not interested in Pazzini, that West Ham were interested in him.

Does Narnas comments mean that he has already accepted relegation to the Championship is a certainty and is forward planning?

I'd love to know how the Icelandics could afford one the highest rated young players in the world. During the summer he was commanding the same fees as Modric.
