Gold to Make £45m Bid for West Ham
The Daily Express say that David Gold is prepared to make a £45 million offer to buy West Ham. This is about a third of what the present owners are asking for and therefore the bid seems doomed to fail.
It is becoming clear that none of the parties currently interested in West Ham are anywhere near meeting the current owners' asking price. CB Holdings and Straumur have repeatedly said that they are prepared to wait for the present economic downturn to improve before selling the club.
Whether Straumur's creditors are prepared to also sit back and wait has yet to be decided.
