West Ham Sign Laštůvka

According to Czech newspaper iDNES West Ham are on the verge of signing goalkeeper Jan Laštůvka on a year's loan deal.

Laštůvka is due to fly into London for a medical.

"Agreement was made. If there is no problem during the medical, I will join West Ham", confirmed Laštůvka.

Laštůvka will provide back up for Robert Green. There is already one Czech keeper at West Ham, 18 years old Marek Stech who signed a new five year contract recently and the goalkeeping coach Ludek Miklosko is also Czech

Laštůvka spent a season on loan with Fulham two years ago and last season he was loaned out to Bochum in the Bundesliga. Laštůvka now seems keen to be heading back to the Premier League,

"I hope everything will be fine. I am eager for the experience to train under Ludek Miklosko. The Premiership is the best league in the world, so I would like to fight for a chance", said Laštůvka.

Laštůvka is a student of philosophy, so he should fit in behind a defence that includes Anton Ferdinand, whom it is rumoured, prefers nothing more than a quite night in reading Wittgenstein. I also hear that Anton is big fan of Kant.
