West Ham Weekend Rumours

Newcastle United Mad say The Times are reporting that West Ham are on the verge of signing a "big name central defender" and that Keegan will be back in for Ferdinand. Of course I can't find any mention of this in The Times. However various make-it-up-as-you-go-along websites have been reporting for a couple of days now that West Ham are vying for the signature of Deportivo La Coruna defender Fabricio Coloccini.

I have been waiting for this story to be confirmed by a reputable source but it hasn't yet. All I have found is a mention in The Daily Mail (who long ago gave up on being reliable in their reporting of West Ham).

The Mail says,

"West Ham are said to be considering a move for tough-tackling Argentina defender Fabricio Coloccini - but could face competition from Newcastle United for his signature."

Elsewhere it is widely being reported that Man Utd are close to signing Tevez for £32-35 million.
