Zabeel Investments in for West Ham
Despite West Ham using yesterday's Independent to once again deny reports that the club is for sale The Daily Mail are reporting that West Ham have been approached by Zabeel Investments. The Dubai royal family owned company made an 'indicative offer' for Charlton last Friday but The Mail say they have now approached West Ham.
The Mail claim that Bjorgolfur Gudmundsson has rejected Zabeel’s offer, although is still in talks with the investment group. But why would anyone believe the Daily Mail. Zabeel themselves certainly think The Mail are spouting rubbish,
“There is no truth to reports that Zabeel Investments made an approach to West Ham yesterday", said a Zabeel spokesperson. "Zabeel Investments has not approached any club since it made an indicative offer for Charlton Athletic last Friday, nor has it authorised any approach on its behalf. "
Sky are today reporting that Birmingham chairman David Gold will not be making a bid for West Ham. If Sky are going to start listing everyone who isn't going to make a bid for West Ham this story will run for the rest of the century.
If Sky want they can list me next. I also won't be making a bid for West Ham.
